The Arizona Diamondbacks are a Major League Baseball team based in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 1998 as an expansion franchise, the Diamondbacks became the fastest expansion team in MLB history to win a championship when they won their first World Series title in 2001. Also known as the “D-backs” or the “Snakes,” this Arizona team is one of the most promising in the MLB. In their first decade of existence (1998-2007), the D-Backs claimed 4 National League West Division titles, an NL pennant, and the above-mentioned World Series title. Further, in all but three of those years, they finished the regular season as one of the top 3 teams in their division. Since being formed, the Diamondbacks have been home to some of the best players in the MLB, including Brandon Webb, Curt Schilling, and many more. Based on their impressive history of success so far, the Diamondbacks will likely be a top MLB team for years to come.
